Now, I have a question for all the japanese speaking people.
In one of the books I read recently, an honorific was used that I'm not familiar with.
"Asou-chi" ......
The character's name is Asou Shiro and he's a homeroom teacher. Several of his students are talking about him and address him as Asou-chi. I've never seen this one before. They also refer to him as Asou-sensei or just Sensei, which I know means teacher. I thought maybe TokyoPop had made a mistake but it happens several times.
Can anyone help me out?

I'm not exactly a japanese speaking person, but I have a small guess. ^.^;;
I read somewhere that "-chi" is somewhat like a modern version of "-chan", often used by young, "cute" students (mainly - or only -girls), when among friends.
Well, that's my guess anyway.
Hope that helped. ^.^;;
